Learning Outcome 5 and 6

In my Showcase Writing Project, and in all of my writing project in fact, I have cited the sources that I have used in my paper by using MLA guidelines. I also have been able to make local revisions to address my basic errors in my various writing projects. I have noticed that I only make local errors when I am not paying attention to my writing, but they rarely make it into the final draft of my projects. According to Learning Outcomes 5 and 6, students should be able to “Document their work using appropriate conventions (MLA)” and “Control sentence-level error (grammar, punctuation, spelling)”. I am very familiar with MLA format, as I have been using it since the first time I was required to use a quote in High School. In my Showcase Writing Project, I successfully cited both text sources in MLA format in my Works Cited page as shown below.

Beck, Julie. “Life’s Stories” The Atlantic. Atlantic Media Company., 10 Aug. 2015. Web. 28 Mar. 2019.

Strawson, Galen. “I am not a Story” Aeon. Aeon Media Group Ltd., 03 Sept. 2015. Web. 02 Apr. 2019.

As simple as it may seem, following MLA guidelines can make sure that your writing project properly adheres to the rules of citing a source without stealing someone’s work. Overall, I believe that I have done a great job at this in my three writing projects, especially my Multi-modal Essay.
