From my experience prioritizing global edits over local edits in my reviews of the two essays I read, I found that I was able to find things that did quite fit in the essay, or just errors in general. However, the two examples that I was assigned did not have many errors that messed with the structure of the paper as well as not messing with the main idea that they stated. I liked having the ability to help someone else get more ideas for their writing, as it actually helped me think of more ideas to write in my own paper. I liked that I was able to give my peers thoughts on how to expand more in their essays, as I would like the same for me. This being said, global edits are far more important to the structure and meaning of the paper rather than just the grammatical and spelling errors that are pointed out in a local edit. As a whole, I hope that the global edits that I made on my peers’ papers will allow them to make their own writing even better than it already is. Hopefully my thoughts and ideas will go a long way in helping them in the future, and I hope that their thoughts and ideas will help me.
