Revision Strategy

The first step in revising the free draft of my multimodal essay is rereading over my peer’s comments that were made on my paper. Next, I will take into consideration if any of these comments change the overall composition of my essay and figuring out if I agree with them or not. I realized that most of the comments made on my paper by my peers will not change the essay too much that it will not still encompass my original ideas and, if anything, they will be built upon even more. A major issue I had with my free draft was that I went over the word count way too early, and my peers helped me fix this by pointing out sentences and phrases that seem to repeat ideas a few times. I will remove or edit these sentences to allow this essay to better fit the word count. Finally, I need to fully incorporate the multimodal aspect of the essay the way that I see is the most beneficial to getting my point across to the reader. I think that if I follow these goals then I will be able to revise my essay in an organized and uniform way.

  1. Great! Repetition is common in student papers. I’m glad that you’re using this shorter wordcount as an opportunity to learn how to avoid it.
